The Power of the Mind
How much power of self-healing or harm do you hold? Estimates of the placebo cure rate range from a low of 15 percent to a high of 72 percent. The nocebo effect has a dark side, leading to adverse reactions or side effects to treatment, and has an unquantified effect on our overall state of health. Our Qigong practice recognises the power of the mind both negatively and positively and works with positive states of well-being, while releasing the negative.

Sliding Scales
Practicing the sliding scales of a Qigong State of Mind can be a useful way of bringing your Qigong practice into everyday life and action.

  • Physical relaxation – Alignment
  • Emotional – Being at ease and relaxed
  • Mental – Focus on what is happening
  • Breath – Follow the sensation of breath
  • Letting go – Wu Wei> letting be

Where are you coming from…
In Fully Alive level 2 we explore using conscious flow, which means working with the rate, volume and quality of energy.

In Level 1 we explore the different modes or levels of a Qigong state of mind in terms of where you are coming from before taking action.
If you find yourself feeling physically, mentally or emotionally restricted, use the various tools learnt so far to become freer.

Returning to and coming from your centre
The practice for this week is to link three Qigong patterns in flow and practice individually:

  • Wuji
  • Enter Deeper Qigong State of Mind
  • Gently rest your awareness and breath at the Dan Tien
  • Smile from the Heart
  • Lifting the Sky
  • Embracing Buddha
  • Carrying the moon
  • Enjoy the energy flow
  • Enjoy stillness
